The article, “Genetic Susceptibility to Drug Teratogenicity: A Systematic Literature Review”, was published in Frontiers in Genetics, and summarises the research on how different genetic variants may contribute to adverse developmental outcomes upon prenatal medication exposure.
The review was supported by the PharmaTox Strategic Research Initiative, and was performed in partnership with researchers at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. The collaboration facilitated the transfer of expertise within genetics, teratogenicity and epidemiology, and supported the first author of the review, PhD candidate Julia do Amaral Gomes (UFRGS), to visit the University of Oslo, further promoting the knowledge transfer across the research groups.
