Professor Nordeng received the prize for her important research on drug safety for pregnant and breastfeeding women, and children.

The prize is awarded by the Norwegian Women's Health Public Health Association to a researcher or research group that has excelled in the field of women's health research. Emphasis is also placed on communication and participation in the social debate.

- We have emphasized that for a number of years Nordeng has produced knowledge that has contributed to safer drug treatment for pregnant women and young children. She has also distinguished herself as a good communicator and has been the driving force behind an information service for pregnant and breastfeeding women, says Marit Bjørnstad, organizational leader of Norwegian Women's Health Public Health Association.
