- After application and by agreement: Access for researchers in geomagnetism, paleomagnetism and rock-magnetism to the research facilities, including technical assistance with paleomagnetic and rock-magnetic experiments and scientific expertise.
About the laboratory
The Ivar Giæver Geomagnetic Laboratory (IGGL) serves the geomagnetic, paleomagnetic and rock-magnetic research community in Norway and abroad.
The lab providing access for researchers to state-of-the-art research facilities, and scientific and technical expertise.

The laboratory is a Norwegian national research infrastructure. The infrastructure is hosted by the Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics (CEED), a CoE at the University of Oslo and run in partnership with the University of Bergen (UiB), the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU).
The IGGL infrastructure is funded by the Research Council of Norway (NFR) and the Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics, University of Oslo.
The laboratory can by appointment be used for research activities and/or to assist students at the Department of Geosciences.
