Hylleraas School 2027 will be held at Hotel Hadeland on January 11.-15.
This seminar serie is part of a collaboration between the Japanese research institutions, the Japanese embassy, the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science, Research Council of Norway, Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills, Innovation Norway, Norwegian Embassy in Tokyo, UiO and the Hylleraas Centre.
A Hylleraas member visited Ullern VGS in December 2025 to talk to senior high school students about experiences as a researcher.
The seminar was part of a collaboration between Japanese research institutions, the Embassy of Japan, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), and the Hylleraas Centre. The seminar was a one-day hybrid event, organized with support from the Hylleraas Centre and the Department of Chemistry. Norway and Japan have maintained diplomatic relations since 1905, and are now celebrating 120 years of friendship.
A high school student who has been mentored at the Hylleraas center won a prize in June 2025 for research project on molecules in strong magnetic fields.
We congratulate Hylleraas members Erik Tellgren and Sangita Sen with the feature article A local tensor that unifies kinetic energy density and vorticity in density functional theory in The Journal of Chemical Physics
