Mahdieh Kamalian is a PhD research fellow and a member of Programming Technology Research Group . Her current research area is focused on developing a mobile transport mode detection system to obtain the individual's travel knowledge.

She holds a master's degree in the field of computer networks from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) and a bachelor's degree in software engineering from Imam Khomeini International University (IKIU). 

Her main research interests include programming ubiquitous things and edge computing.
