Short Bio
I'm a PhD researcher currently working on the pedagogy and didactics of computing and programming. As a previous teacher in mathematics, programming and arts in the Oslo region, I'm passionate for inspirational teaching which combines the best of science, maths and technology.

Research
In 2020, the Norwegian government introduced programming as a topic to be taught within the mathematics subject. This provides many a challenge for both the students and the teachers: how does one practically introduce and teach programming within another subject such as mathematics? How alike are mathematics and programming really, and can the two of them be intertwined in a productive manner? I hope to answer these and many more questions in the following years. My previous research project involves observing and video recording lessons with pre-prepared contents over two month period, where mathematics and programming are taught intertwined.

I have developed the IPR-MI-MI methodology for teaching programming with and alongside mathematics. This is a specialized pedagogy that aims to teach students programming, not as a tacked-on addition to the mathematics classroom, but a deeply integrated element which improves understanding in both domains simultaneously.

Ongoing projects
I'm currently developing an experiment to implement the IPR-MI-MI pedagogy which will commence in March/April 2026. We're therefore looking for in-duty mathematics teachers who might be willing to test out programming x mathematics materials with us!

Workshops and teaching
I am also collaborating with Utdanningsforbundet by providing courses in teaching programming for teachers and teacher students around Norway.

In addition, I've been collaborating privately with schools in various European countries in an effort to provide professional development for mathematics teachers with the aims of infusing programming into K-12 education.

Science communication and infographics
I also develop inforgraphical material on request – hit me up!
