I am a PhD Fellow at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Rhythm, Time and Motion (RITMO) at the University of Oslo. My research explores how we can develop smarter and more adaptable robots by drawing inspiration from human psychology and decision-making.
In particular, I investigate how ideas such as fast and slow thinking, model-based and model-free decision-making, and bounded rationality can inform the design of artificial systems. I work with reinforcement learning systems that incorporate multiple decision-making processes and can switch between them depending on the situation.
My research focuses both on how to design and implement these systems and on understanding how different decision-making strategies affect their behaviour. The broader goal is to develop robots that can make more effective decisions and adapt to the complexity and uncertainty of real-world environments.
