Research

The department develops fundamental theories and methods in informatics and carries out research inspired by and aimed at society's challenges. Our researchers work with cutting edge interdisciplinary projects for sustainable, smart and innovative solutions.

Centres

IFI is hosting the HISP centre and the Norwegian AI centre TRUST. 

In addition, the department participates in several AI centres (AI) and a number of Centres of Excellence (SFF) and Centres for Research-based Innovation (SFI).
