6th National Meeting on Inorganic and Materials Chemistry

2nd -3rd May 2017- Gardemoen, Comfort Hotel Runway

This year the NAFUMA group has been in charge of the organization of the annual National Meeting on Inorganic and Materials Chemistry.

60 participants, 5 key-note lectures, 19 talks and 21 posters for an intense scientific meeting on a rich selection of topics spanning from hybrid functional materials to thermoelectric materials and novel catalysts, from DFT calculations to advanced XRD and operando laboratory techniques and much more...

Two poster prizes and two awards for the best oral presentations were offered by the FUM and the sponsor of the conference, Matriks AS.

The winners were:

  • Poster prize, Kristine Bakken (PhD student at NTNU), "Nucleation and growth mechanisms during aqueous chemical solution deposition of oxide thin films".
  • Poster prize, Oleksii Ivashenko (postdoc at NAFUMA), "Operando Investigation of Surfaces for NOx Catalysis".
  • Vegar Øygarden (postdoc at IFE) for his talk "Synthesis of phase-pure τ-MnAlC using mechanical alloying and a single-step annealing route"
  • Ragnar Strandbakke (researcher at UiO) for his talk "Proton Ceramic Electrolysers; operation, challenges and developments".

In addition, the Inorganic and Materials Chemistry group of NKS, FUM-NKS (Norsk Kjemisk Selskap) held its general assembly.

Glad of the success of the meeting the organizing committee, Helmer Fjellvåg, Ola Nilsen, Anja O. Sjåstad are deeply grateful for the enthusiastic participation of everyone!
