Anja did her PhD at “Avdeling A” at Department of Chemistry, UiO within materials chemistry (synthesis, thermodynamics and crystal structures of perovskites and oxide carbonates). After she obtained her Dr. Scient degree in 1999, she started at SINTEF where she focused on catalyst development for conversion of natural gas to synthesis gas and hydrogen. During 2005-2011 she was Technology Manager at REC Silicon, with frequent travels and longer stays at their silane and silicon plants in Washington and Montana, USA. Finaly, she joined Department of Chemistry as Professor in 2011 and now she is stepping up as Head of the NAFUMA research section.
Anja herself says she look forward to developing NAFUMA together with the permanent staff, researchers and all our students at BSc, MSc, and PhD level. The students and the young researchers are the key for our success in performing good science. At the same time, our staff are creating competitive research projects, keeps labs and instruments operative, and they raise funding for cutting-edge equipment and infrastructures. It is exciting times at NAFUMA just now – we are commissioning two brand new high-end X-ray diffractometers, RapidX and operando Battery, at the national infrastructures RECX and NABLA, respectively. We are also welcoming many new co-workers and students this fall.
"Busy times, but all this will give us fantastic opportunities!" - Anja
