This is the 3rd instalment of the MaP-Trop seminar (Matroids, Polytopes, and Tropical Geometry). We aim to bring together researchers at the intersection of combinatorics and algebraic geometry specifically in the areas of matroid theory, polytopes and toric varieties, and tropical geometry. The meetings will alternate between KTH Stockholm and UiO Oslo.

The first meeting was held in Oslo on January 26th, 2024. The second meeting was held at KTH on May 3rd, 2024.

Registration

To register and submit a proposal for a talk please fill out this registration form by January 15th. If you wish to apply for travel and accommodation support please fill out the form as soon as possible and no later than January 6th.

Speakers

Aryaman Jal - KTH Stockholm Structural and positroidal properties of rook matroids

Marta Panizzut - UiT Arctic University of Norway Positive del Pezzo geometry

Nicholas Proudfoot - University of Oregon Zonotopal algebra and the cohomology of graphical configuration spaces

Program

The program will consist of three talks followed by a discussion/open problem session in the afternoon. It will begin Friday morning and end in the afternoon.  The talks will be held in Vilhelm Bjerknes' hus Auditorium 4. The afternoon discussion will take place on the ground floor of Niels Henrik Abel's hus.
