Polarization PhotoVoltaics (P2V) (completed)

About the project

The primary objective is to demonstrate a novel photovoltaic device utilizing polarization effects in wurtzite semiconductors, having a potential to
outperform conventional solar cells on behalf of significantly higher output voltages, called as P2V solar cell. The P2V device principle is also applicable
as a piezoelectric component, harvesting mechanical energy, and the full project will demonstrate of a hybrid device for harvesting vibrational and solar
energy.
Secondary objectives are: i) demonstrate that the P2V solar cell outperforms an equivalent device consisting of identical but nonpolar stacks, ii) develop
an industrially viable route to solar harvesting using P2V principle, iii) explore the piezoelectric conversion efficiency with P2V principle, iv) demonstrate a
hybrid device for harvesting vibrational and solar energy.
