The Olav Thon Foundation academic awards and grants for research

The Olav Thon Foundation gives each year academic awards and funding for excellent teaching and research in medicine and natural sciences. 

The awards and fundings are given to high-quality international and national research and to research-based teaching at the university and university college level.

  • National award for excellence in teaching: Professor Hans Petter Langtangen, Department of Informatics.

2015: 

  • National award for excellence in teaching: Professor Anders Malthe-Sørensen, Department of Physics.
  • Funding for teaching-related research in Norway: research project ReleKvant, by Student-active research, Professor Carl Angell, Professor Ellen K. Henriksen and Senior Lecturer Cathrine W. Tellefsen, Department of Physics.
