Fredagskollokvium: The Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder

Simon Johnston, Head of Astrophysics at the Australian Telescope National Facility

The CSIRO is building the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder
in remote areas of Western Australia. Operating at frequencies near 1 GHz
it will be the fastest radio survey telescope in the world. I will
outline its current status, describe its science potential, and outline
early science results. Towards the end of my talk, I'll discuss the
Square Kilometre Array itself, a multi-country mega-project which will
revolutionise radio astronomy.
