Fredagskollokvium: Lack of coherence between planetary and climate oscillations and an unresolved radio mystery

Sverre Holm, professor, Institutt for informatikk / Dept. of Informatics

Papers have been written on how the movement of the center of mass of the solar system allegedly influences the global temperature. The movement is mainly due to the two giant planets, Jupiter and Saturn. Claiming a connection with the global temperature is rather speculative, and that's what my magnitude squared coherence analysis published in J. Atmos. Solar-Terrestr. Phys. and Astrophys. Space Sci. has shown also.

I will also briefly touch upon an unresolved long delayed radio echo mystery first discovered in Oslo in 1927, and where I did some historical research on the work of Prof. Carl Størmer, UiO.
