Masterpresentasjon: Ida Benedikte Amlie Hole: The Inverse-C shape of the Ca II 8542 Å spectral Line

Abstract

The inverse-C shape of the bisector from the chromospheric Ca triplet spectral lines is a little understood phenomena. This spectral signature can give valuble information about the chromosphere, which is the least understood atmospheric layer of the Sun. Principal Component Analysis is applied to high spatial and spectral resolution observations obtained at the Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope to study which spectral line profiles that contribute to this inverse-C shape.
