Our researchers are the focus of this project, leveraging the empirical data gathered during the previous FRONT project to emphasize diversity and equity. Unlike the initial focus on associate professors and full professors, this study includes a more diverse group, particularly in terms of ethnic diversity.
To delve deeper into the intersectional analysis presented in the FRONT book "Gender Equality in Academia - from Knowledge to Change" (Holter and Snickare, 2022), we will use mixed methods to collect material. Given the diverse nature of the researcher group, mixed methods will provide comprehensive insights.
Building on strategies from previous FRONT projects, we will develop dialogue methods that engage participants as 'co-researchers' in exploring their own situations and career development. This approach has proven effective in fostering curiosity and engagement rather than resistance.
The results of this work will be presented at the Faculty’s annual leadership conference and further discussed by the Faculty’s Committee for Equality, Inclusion, and Diversity (LIMU). The knowledge gained about working conditions, work environment, academic culture, and career challenges faced by researchers will form the foundation for developing new initiatives.
