Jøran Idar Moen

Academic Interests
My main interest is studying Solar-Terrestrial coupling in the auroral cusp/ polar cap region by multi-instrument techniques, using radars and ground based optics from Svalbard, as well as satellite and sounding rockets. I am currently in charge of a sounding rocket program dedicated to study ionospheric irregularities formed by plasma instabilities in the context of cusp auroras and polar cap patches. The knowledge gained will hopefully be very useful for future space weather weather services for communication and GNSS services.
