To be eligble for a MSc at our group, you must be admitted to a relevant master's programme at UiO, such as Materials Science for Energy and Nanotechnology or Physics. Relevant programme options for Physics are Condensed Matter and Materials Physics and Quantum Science and Quantum Technology.
Topics and methods for a potential master's thesis include:
- Photovoltaics and solar cells
- Quantum technology
- Nanoscale fabrication
- Advanced material design
- Quantum mechanical modelling of materials
- Sensors and detector technology
- Advanced nano to atomic scale characterisation
- Power Electronics
Interested in any of these topics or have an idea you want to discuss? Contact potential supervisors: Andrej Kuznetsov, Anette Gunnæs, Eduard Monakhov, Fredrik Sydow Hage, Holger Von Wenckstern, Justin Wells, Lasse Vines, Marianne Ezelmüller Bathen, and Simon Cooil.
Think about whether you want your master's thesis to have an experimental or a theoretical focus. E.g. do you want to spend most of your time in the lab or do you mostly want to do simulations? Are you interested in growing materials, fabricating simple devices, or characterizing material properties? Please indicate which type of task you prefer when contacting potential supervisors.
