I am a researcher at the Department of Geosciences. From 2025 to 2027, I am engaged in the Nordic Climate History (NORCLI) project, which focuses on understanding how Nordic societies historically responded to episodes of rapid climate change. Our approach integrates natural archives—such as tree rings, lake sediments, and climate model data—with societal archives, including historical records and material culture. By studying extreme events triggered by abrupt climate changes over the last 500 years, we aim to uncover valuable lessons about resilience and effective adaptation strategies from how people adapted to challenges that are remarkably similar to those we face today.
In 2024/2025, the NORCLI project collaborates closely with the research group on the Nordic Little Ice Age (NORLIA) hosted by the Center for Advanced Studies, Oslo
