Getting started with Windows 10

During 2019, Windows 10 will be rolled out to all Windows users at UiO.

What's new?

Install software on UiO owned computers via Software Center:
In the search box on the taskbar, type Software Center. 
There you search the software on the top right corner of the screen.

To make changes for UiO owned computers you need temporary administrator rights:

Windows 10 has a new Settings interface you can get to by clicking on the Start icon - Settings (the cogwheel on the left side).

Where is the old Control Panel?
In the search box on the taskbar, type control panel, and then select Control Panel.

Where the heck is the Log Off button?
Way 1: Right-click on the Start icon and go to Shutdown or sign out. 
Way 2: Open Start Menu, click the user icon on the top-left corner and choose Sign out in the menu.


For Windows 10 laptops:
Laptops have DirectAccess installed which is a VPN-like technology.
