I am a PhD student at the Department of Bioinformatics and Genetics of the Swedish Museum of Natural History, the Centre for Palaeogenetics, and Stockholm University. I am visiting IBV for three months thanks to an EMBO Scientific Exchange Grant. During this time, I'll be working on bulk-bone sedimentary ancient DNA research in the group led by Sanne Boessenkool.

Back in Sweden, I am part of Tom van der Valk’s research group within the "SciLifeLab and Wallenberg National Programme for Data-Driven Life Science". My research focuses on developing and applying bioinformatic methods for biodiversity monitoring and population metagenomics, using contemporary and ancient DNA from environmental and bulk samples.

I'm active in science communication and outreach through talks, workshops, and similar activities in Mexico and, more recently, in Sweden. I also have a background in field and laboratory research in the Peruvian Amazon with Field Projects International.

Before starting my PhD in October 2022, I completed my MSc in Evolutionary Biology at Uppsala University (2020–2022) and my BSc in Biology at the Metropolitan Autonomous University – Xochimilco in Mexico City (2014–2019).
