About the Department

The Department of Biosciences (IBV) has five research sections; Aquatic Biology and Toxicology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Physiology and Cell Biology, Genetics and Evolutionary Biology and Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Synthesis.

The Department's research focuses on understanding the fundamental biological processes from molecular and cellular level to population and ecosystem level.

The Department provides research-based teaching and researcher education of high quality in a wide range of biology, - for example biochemistry, microbiology, physiology, genetics, evolution, ecology, bioinformatics and biotechnology. Our candidates get jobs in public administration and the institute sector, business, education and academia.
