Background
I am a Colombian organismal biologist interested in how organisms adapt to their natural environment. I have been concerned with the impacts of global change drivers on biodiversity, and so during my Master and PhD (both at the University of São Paulo, Brazil) I investigated aspects of the heat tolerance of amphibian larvae. In parallel, I have always been fascinated about the evolution of animal toxins and venoms, which led me to engage on research with poison frogs in Colombia early in my career. I joined CEES in May 2023 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work in the projects "Lacewing Venom: Linking molecular and phenotypic evolution (RCN)" & "Lacewing venom: Linking the molecular and phenotypic evolution of adaptive traits (ERC)". I will investigate the microevolutionary aspects linked to the evolvability of the venom system of the green lacewing (Chrysoperla carnea), integrating modern venomics, molecular and evolutionary quantitative genetics.
