I started my PhD on 16th of September. And I am glad to do some research on microbial community in the warming North, focusing on the impact of climate change on aquatic microbial ecosystem and the feedback of microorganisms.
I received my bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Shandong University. Then I found myself interested in environmental microbiology and received my master’s degree in biological engineering from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. My previous project focused on the application of quorum sensing signals to soil nitrogen transformation.
During the research in responses of soil microbial community on applying quorum sensing signals, I was deeply attracted by disentangling the mystery of microbial community by using bioinformatic methods. So, I decided to change my focus to microbial ecology and their application on explaining and predicting the complex but fascinating microbial ecosystem. I will also investigate the link between changes of microbial community and their feedback to melting permafrost and glaciers.
