Academic interests
I am interested in host-pathogen interactions, bacterial pathogenesis, and antimicrobial resistance. As a member of the Linke Group, I study how bacterial surface proteins interact with host cells to promote infection, with a particular focus on Intimin/Invasin-family proteins in Enterobacter species.
Before joining the University of Oslo, I was a member of the Leifer Lab at Cornell University, where I studied innate immune signaling pathways. I also previously worked in the Bacteriology Department at Cornell's Animal Health Diagnostic Center, performing bacterial identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
I completed a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University and hold a B.A. in Biology from St. Olaf College.
