I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oslo working in comparative and molecular immunology, with a particular focus on the Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) immune system. My research combines wet-lab and bioinformatics approaches to understand how cod mount effective immune responses despite the evolutionary loss of key adaptive immune components. I have established high-throughput single-cell RNA sequencing pipelines encompassing over 100,000 splenic cells across vaccination and infection timelines, developed and validated extensive qPCR panels for host–pathogen profiling, and characterized monoclonal antibodies targeting distinct leukocyte populations.
My work bridges fundamental fish immunology with applied relevance to aquaculture health, contributing to a better understanding of vaccine efficacy and immune mechanisms in species of economic importance. I also teach and supervise students in immunology and molecular biology, with an emphasis on linking mechanistic understanding to real-world biological and disease contexts.
