I am interested in the possible roles of androgen-regulated genes that were identified, and at least in part, characterized in our lab, in tumorigenesis of the prostate. One of these is the prostate enriched six-transmembrane protein STAMP1 previously shown in our lab to be required for prostate cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo. The focus of my work is the potential function of STAMP1 during prostate cancer progression.
