Primary objective
The primary objective is to establish a sustainable student and researcher exchange program with Nagaoya University, Japan and the Beijing Union Medical College/Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences based on existing student exchange agreements and scientific collaborations.
Secondary objectives
The secondary objectives are:
- to enhance student mobility between Norway, China and Japan
- to improve teaching efforts on the very interdisciplinary topic of microbial surface colonization
- to give students and researchers access to scientific collaborations and to research methods and instrumentation that is only accessible in the partner institution
- to get more students involved in research projects at an early stage – “education through research”
- to plan and organize workshops/summer schools on the topic with full credit points, that will be continued also after the funding period
