Ragnhild Bassøe Gundersen
I am a doctoral fellow at the Health Information Systems Program (HISP) at the Department of Informatics. My field of research is the digitalization of infectious disease surveillance management (IDSM) and response in general and in particular the digitalization of contact tracing information systems (CTIS), especially with Covid-19 in mind in Norway. The research is conducted in collaboration with HISP researchers, master's students and developers. There are also international collaborative projects that look at the use of DHIS2's Covid-19 package.
Over 100 municipalities have implemented DHIS2 as a contact tracing solution and through my research I study how digitization of contact tracing in particular affects infectious disease surveillance management and response in Norway. Thus, I study the contact tracing ecosystem; actors and technologies and how these affect each other. I am also interested in possible integrations between DHIS2 and other health information systems, such as FHI's MSIS register. One topic I am interested in is whether it is possible and what is needed to develop resilient and sustainable contact tracing information systems.
