Developing EDucation with Input from CoordinATED research students - DEDICATED

A Master and PhD-student collaboration 2022-2026 funding student exchange from the Information Systems group to three African universities. It also funds research students from the African partners to UiO.

DEDICATED will involve PhD and Master's students in research that feeds into educational development at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane in Moçambique, University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, University of Malawi and UiO. The research carried out by the students will be coordinated within
the theme of improving usability, interoperability, and data use of digital health systems. Results from the theses will feed into the development of six course modules.

Objectives

8 Norwegian master and 2 PhD students will complete their degrees.

11 staff members at the African partners will complete their PhDs and 6 will complete Master. 

One revised and 5 new modules to be developed jointly and integrated into revised curricula:

•Introduction to Digital Health
•Analysis of health data.
•Design for usability in digital health
•Development of digital health applications
•Developing Community Health Information Systems
•Research Methods in Digital health

Outcomes

Project results will strengthen the impact and sustainability of the health information systems in the African countries and contribute to improved research and educational quality in the collaborating universities.
