Most websites are still making use of passwords as the primary authentication factor. Yet, FIDO2-based passwordless authentication becomes more and more popular due to its security benefits. It is already supported by most operating systems and browsers. Service providers may, however, have a hard time adopting to this new authentication technology.
The goal of this Master's thesis is to investigate the use of passwordless authentication in practice and to develop tools that facilitate the migration to FIDO2 authentication.
