The Internet of Things is advancing into more and more areas of our life: smart homes, smart cities, smart industrial production etc. With usage in critical applications also the need for secure communication arises. However, standard security protocols or implementations can not always be adopted, as IoT devices have special characteristics and requirements, like limited computation power, low energy consumption (to save battery life), or the threat of physical access by an attacker. Therefore, solutions specifically for IoT are being developed.
The aim of this thesis is to analyze and implement IoT-specific security protocols. Possible tasks are:
- Survey the most relevant IoT security protocols and select the most interesting one
- Implement the security protocol (e.g. using Contiki-NG)
- Set up an IoT testbed
- Run and analyze experiments
