Trust the Rocks! A fun geology day with workshops for the whole family during Forskningsdagene 9. okt. 2026
Through experiments and play, researchers from the University of Oslo brought geoscience closer to visitors of all ages. The event took place at the Climate House, with several stations offering interactive activities and workshops. Many happy 3–6-year-olds enjoyed Trust the Rocks! that day!
AI is helping scientists understand earthquakes, landslides and glacier collapses 11. sep. 2026
Artificial intelligence cannot yet predict exactly when an earthquake, landslide or glacier collapse will happen. But it can help researchers understand what happens as rocks and ice move towards failure, the point where accumulated stress causes them to fracture, slip or collapse.
