Department of Biosciences board - election

Candidates:

Vilde Olsson Lalun

My name is Vilde Olsson Lalun and I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the REPEAT project lead by Kjetill Jacobsen and Melinka Butenko; a joint project between EVOGENE and CEES. My main interest is to experimentally study of genetic variation we observe in wild-type populations of the Atlantic cod and the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana.  I have taken my Bachelors, Masters and PhD degree here at IBV and I thus have experience with different (temporarily) roles of the IBV team. As part of my PhD and now postdoc period, I have a 25 % teaching duty and are involved and interested in ensuring good and interesting teaching for our students.  I have previous experience from one period at the IBV board (2019).

My focus as a board member will be to ensure that we as temporarily staff are included in the Institute’s activities. I wish to contribute to the IBV board with a voice representing all temporarily staff with the idea that you can come to talk to me if you have thoughts that I should bring into the board meeting. I think it is important that we as temporarily staff have a clear voice in matters regarding our institute, both for our own sake but also to ensure a best possible working environment for future temporarily staff.
