Carolina is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Physics of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil.

Lorenzo Olivo Filippini is a student in the Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (PROMEC), working as a researcher in the areas of fluid mechanics, non-Newtonian fluid flows and free surface flows at the Laboratory of Rheology and Non-Newtonian Fluid Flows (ReoSul).

Guilherme Henrique Fiorot is a researcher in the field of Fluid Mechanics and an adjunct professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). He develops research in the theoretical, numerical and experimental aspects in complex fluid flows, whether with free surface or through porous media, especially those related to natural flows. 

Doctoral candidate Ali Wajdan at the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, is defending the thesis Automatic Monitoring of Cardiac Function Using Epicardial Accelerometers: Detection of Left Ventricular Valve Events with Signal Processing and Deep Learning for the degree of Philosophiae Doctor.

Majorana bound states are quasiparticles which could be used to make qubits protected from noise. This protection relies on the spatial separation between Majoranas. These statements make sense in non-interacting theories, where quasiparticles and their location can be defined, but how can one generalize this to interacting systems? 

This hands-on workshop introduces you to the tools you need to develop an academic research project into a successful innovation project. We’ll also cover funding opportunities and innovation grant writing as a potential next step for developing your project further.
