This year's LATICE Summer Seminar will be held on 27 June 2023. We will begin with short presentations by LATICE researchers, to update each other on our research activities, and discuss our future work and collaborations. After the seminar, we will enjoy some ice cream and strawberries.
Ryan Teuling, associate professor at Wageningen University, will join us and give a presentation at 15:15 (tentative time):
- Title: "Forests and the water cycle: from land-atmosphere interaction to water availability".
- Abstract: "Forests influence the water cycle in various ways. In this talk, I will discuss how forests and changes in forest cover influence long-term water availability patterns through their impact on evapotranspiration, but also how forests impact land-atmosphere interaction and heatwave temperatures on diurnal timescales. Finally, I will discuss how forests impact local cloud cover, and potentially impact precipitation at larger continental scales."
Everyone interested is welcome.
