On August 28–29, 2025, Hannover Medical School (MHH) and Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) celebrated the 55th anniversary of the biochemistry courses offered in Hannover.

Biochemistry student and former Hylleraas guest Daniel Marke presented his work on “Multiscale modelling of ebselen binding to inositol monophosphatase”, carried out under the supervision of Marco Bortoli and Michele Cascella. He was awarded the poster prize, which includes a one-year GBM membership and a cash award.

At a scientific colloquium, participants gained insights into current research in organic chemistry, biophysical chemistry, and cellular biochemistry. The event also included a poster session organized by the German Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM), where students and doctoral candidates presented their research.

The event reflected on the history of biochemistry research and teaching in Hannover and looked ahead to future developments.
