Tarek Scheele: New researcher in theoretical chemistry
At the Hylleraas Centre, Tarek will work with PI Prof. Dr. Luca Frediani and PI Dr. Bin Gao on projects related to RT3/4 and RT0, focusing on development of electronic structure methods with strong electric and magnetic fields, and Hylleraas Software Platform.

Tarek completed his PhD in the group of Prof. Dr. Tim Neudecker at the University of Bremen, Germany, in 2024. His research focused on assessing electronic structure methods based on density functional theory for calculating properties of molecules in oriented external electric fields (OEEFs). Furthermore, he used computational models for applying mechanical force to investigate the rupture behaviour of mechanophores in strong OEEFs and the influence of thermal effects on their mechanical behaviour.
