Mohamed Eid Ahmed Safy, who recently got his PhD degree at the Oslo node of the Hylleraas Centre, received not one but two awards at the Catalytic CO2 Conversions Conference held in Copenhagen (Denmark) on August 25-28, 2026. The awards were:

  1. Early Career Scientist Award
  2. Best Poster Presentation Award

The Poster Award was delivered to Mohamed by Prof. Morten Meldal, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry in 2022.

The title of the work presented by Mohamed in Copenhagen was

How Mechanistic Understanding Guides the Design of New CO2-to-Methanol Catalysts

done under the supervision of Hylleraas PIs Ainara Nova and David Balcells.

Congratulations Mohamed!
