23 rd February 2026, Hylleraas, Oslo.
Collaboration between the scientific sofware
The visiting team consisted of researcher Elisa Rebolini (who was a post-doc at the Hylleraas Centre from 2014-17), software engineer Shervin Nourbakhsh, and PhD student Victor Mecoli. Their visit builds on the current collaboration between the scientific sofware group at ILL and the Hylleraas Centre research theme 0, with a shared focus on expanding the capabilities of HSP to support advanced scientific workflows and improve user accessibility for experimental researchers using the ILL neutron beams.
Advancing HSP for Complex Magnon Workflows
A key objective of the visit was to further develop the use of HSP for complex computational workflows in magnon research. Magnon studies, which investigate collective spin excitations in magnetic materials, require sophisticated modeling pipelines with advanced simulations.
During their stay, the team worked closely with Tilmann Bodenstein, Morten Ledum, and Simen Reine from the Hylleraas Centre to refine the magnon workflow automation. By leveraging HSP, the collaboration aims to make multi-step magnon modeling more streamlined and scalable.
