Mercury and bowling

The last couple of weeks some of the participants from the group have been using our new machine, DMA-80, for analyses of total mercury in various samples. We have received training from Danny, who have been working on the quality assurance for the machine.

The samples are a good representation of the diversity in all the projects in the group, spanning from amphipods from Svalbard, killerwhale skin, lumpfish and herring, and tropical fish from Zanzibar. All the samples have been freeze dried and homogenized into fine powder.

Guess which samples are killerwhale skin! The winner gets to join this group for our next bowling match.
