I am a marine ecophysiologist, specializing in the study of the response of organisms to global changes (ocean acidification and warming) and farming conditions in aquaculture. During my research, I seek to characterize and relate the response of organisms to their environment at different organizational scales ( molecular, individual and ecosystem) in order to produce valuable data that can be used to 1) predict the future of species and/or 2) develop management solutions (e.g. sustainable aquaculture). Recently, I specialized in determining the tipping points beyond which small environmental changes will have dramatic consequences on the functioning of biological systems, answering the research needs highlighted in the latest IPCC reports. At the UiO, I seek to characterize the tipping point of stress intensity (ocean acidification and warming) beyond which arctic copepods show a response at the microphysiological scale (transpidomics, lipidomics) that can lead to strong macrophysiological consequences (reproductive failures, mortality, etc.). This will allow to predict the future of polar ecosystems in which copepods play a structural role.
