I will describe the development of the GI cancer program at the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Australia and how we have built a translational research platform with eight clinical studies that are recruiting patients to evaluate targeted therapies, particularly immunotherapies and surgery studies. The Ramsay lab has 5 surgeons who are clinical research fellows working towards PhDs that together with the lab team and GI tumour stream clinician are tackling real world research questions within our cancer centre.
