Single cell genomics and transcriptomics

We develop and apply methods for single cell genomics and transcriptomics in order to study unculturable microbes and single cells of multicellular organisms. These techniques are mainly being developed for phylogenomic studies of orphan lineages in the tree of life, and to investigate gene regulationary principles across life stages of protists. We are currently developing methods for subcellular localisation of RNA in the cells by cell dissection and sequencing of cell partitions, and we develop transcriptome methods to study cells from different growth stages.
