Research
The Morphoplex group study evolutionary innovation of morphology (morpho-) and morphing of cells over evolutionary time scales. We compare elements (-plex) at several levels of organisation, from free-living cells to communities and multicellular organims. Common to all projects in the group is the interest in combining evolutionary biology with network analysis and systems biology. Our research covers functional interactions of genes in gene regulatory pathways and functinal interactions of microbes in ecosystems.
