Abstract
This talk covers two areas. The first part describes our work on the type-three system of Escherichia coli O157, and details the work we have done to 1) identify and characterise a new signal and pathway for the regulation of virulence, 2) structural characterisation of protein targets of novel anti-virulence compounds and 3) methods developed to monitor virulence factors.
The second part describes the work we have done on developing high-throughput methods of expression and purification, to identify good initial conditions for membrane protein crystallisation.
