Den nevromuskulære synapsen

Den nevromuskulære synapsen er mye brukt i forskningssammenheng fordi den er lett tilgjengelig og relativt stor sammenlignet med synapser i sentralnervesystemet.

En rekke ulike proteiner er med på å aggregere acetylcholin reseptorer (AChR) og vedlikeholdet av den synaptiske strukturen. En av disse er rapsyn, et 43kD protein som forankrer reseptorene til cytoskjelettet .
