I am the head of the Global Infrastructures (GI) group at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo. I resumed as a Professor in 2009 after 8 years as Research Director in Telenor (mobile operator) where I built up and headed a Research and Innovation centre in Malaysia for all Telenor Asian operations.
My researh interest lies in mobile extensions of the open source District Health Information System (DHIS) software with the aim of generating new knowledge about the development and use of mobile IT in low resource settings. I am currently managing the following projects: MobiHealth: Developing Health Service Networks through Mobile Solutions in Low Resource Settings (2010-2014); Strengthening national Health Information Systems in the South, NORAD (2010 – 2014).
