Quotes:
[On lectures:] Needs structure and better flow.
As a student with little mathematical background, it was quite hard to follow most of the lectures given. In some cases it felt like the course teachers spent a lot of time explaining simple mathematical concepts, then rushing through more advanced concepts later in the lecture, simply saying “This should be self explanatory”.
Too many different course teachers, each with their own slides and method of teaching.
Very swingy lectures, sometimes very good and relevant, otherwise sometimes focuses all to much on small irrelevant details. Some lecture notes are clearly dated, and would profit from reworking.
The number of assignments are ok, but the size and time required for each one is a bit much for a 10pt course.
Based on the lack of quality of the lectures, parts of the assignment was hard to solve. And the feedback was really poor…. the “OK” “good” was the only feedback. Had to email and ask for a proper explanation of what was wrong with one of the tasks. […]
The book can only be found as a SCANNED pdf. How about maybe looking for a book that can actually be found? […]
About the course evaluation
The course evaluation is done by students in FUI (Fagutvalget ved Institutt for informatikk), and is based on questionnaires made at the end of each semester.
